Stéphane Denève and the St Louis Symphony Orchestra have announced a European tour in March 2023.

On the Orchestra’s first tour overseas with Denève as Music Director, they will be joined by Icelandic pianist Víkingur Ólafsson. The 5-date tour will feature concerts in Vienna, Brussels, Amsterdam, Eindhoven, and Madrid. The programme for all five concerts will be Prokofiev’s The Love of Three Oranges Suite, Grieg’s Piano Concerto (which Ólafsson performed with the SLSO in 2021) and Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances.

Denève said, “I’m so proud of the orchestra, and I really think it is a great ambassador to show what St. Louis actually is. It’s important to show (the world) that there is great news here and that the city has a great artistic life.”
